Pierre Marsaut was born in France and is now based in Athens, Greece. For the last seven years, Pierre traveled frequently from his base in Sofia, Bulgaria to photograph in places such as Turkey, Ukraine, the Balkan region, the West Bank and East Africa. In 2011, he began documenting immigration in Europe with a focus on refugees fleeing war-torn countries. From 2013 to 2015, Pierre was a freelance contributor for Reuters News Agency in Bulgaria. His pictures have been published in the The International New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, Der Spiegel, Le Monde and l’Express amongst others. Pierre works regularly as a set photographer on French movies and documentaries in countries such as Lebanon, Greece and Bulgaria.
