Pierre Marsaut is a French independent photographer currently living in Paris, France. For the last eight years, Pierre has worked extensively in places such as the Balkan region, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Israel, the West Bank and East Africa. Over these years, Pierre was based in Sofia, Bulgaria, Athens, Greece and Istanbul, Turkey. In 2011,  he began documenting immigration in Europe with a focus on refugees fleeing war-torn countries. From 2013 to 2015, Pierre was a freelance contributor for Reuters News Agency in Bulgaria.   
His pictures have been published in the The International New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, Der Spiegel, Le Monde and l’Express amongst others. Pierre also works regularly as a set photographer on movies and documentaries in countries such as Lebanon, Greece and Bulgaria.
